National Best Friend Day
National Best Friend Day is an unofficial holiday that is celebrated annually on the 8th of June.
Homecare West celebrates Best Friend Day by offering you the opportunity to share your cost for care with your BFF (best friend forever).
Best friends make a difference in our daily lives. It is a person that you can always rely on, someone genuine, trustworthy and who accepts you for who you are.
Oscar Wilde said “Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation.”
Throughout the pandemic I have heard and seen many examples of what friends have done for one another. Seniors, sharing homes, meals, standing in line for groceries and prescriptions for each other. Sharing fears of illness and loneliness but always giving each other hope, extending a hand and maybe an illegal hug.
Lucy and Ethel of the I Love Lucy show were best friends for 180 episodes from 1951 -57, Statler and Waldorf – two cranky old men sitting in the balcony on The Muppet Show and Rocky & Bullwinkle sharing adventures and some really dicey situations all emanating best friends’ roles to us.
