Palliative Care Services

Palliative care is a specialized form of health care for individuals and families who are living with a life-limiting illness that is usually at an advance stage.  The goal of palliative care is to provide comfort and dignity for the person living with the illness as well as the best quality of life for both this person and their family. 

Our Home Care Assistants respect all client and family choices and are there to support everyone.  Understanding the need for pain management & comfort care during this time, we d work under your palliative care team’s direction.  Helping to ensure the entire family is cared for is important therefore, we can coordinate visitors while considering the client’s need for rest, organize meals and respond to immediate wishes and care requirements.

Recognizing home is where you want to be, we will do our very best to help create the perfect setting for you and your family.  We want you to be at ease and comfortable therefore by taking care of your home health care needs, whether it’s 24 hours a day, during the night or for a few hours throughout the day, we’re here for you.

We Are Sick Of Covid Too!

This is how we are keeping our clients and home care assistants safe.

  • Prior to entering the home and before each shift, the employee answers a COVID-19 screening questionnaire to ensure they are not displaying any COVID symptoms. Once clear, they may proceed to enter client’s home.
  • Upon arrival, employees are to change into a clean uniform shirt and indoor shoes and wash or sanitize hands.
  • Mask to be worn by employee for full duration of their shift.
  • Personal belongings are left at the door.
  • Clients are also asked COVID-19 screening questions when employee enters their home.
  • If there are any visitors, they will also be asked COVID-19 screening questions and will be asked to maintain 2m distance and wear a mask (if possible).
  • Goggles/gloves/apron used for personal care and shower/bath assist.
  • Employees are to wash their hands continually during shift.
  • Employees to report any changes noticed to client condition or if COVID-19 symptoms are noticed at any time during their shift.
  • When visiting a retirement residence or long-term care centre, all building protocols in response to COVID-19 are followed.
